In AACF, we have five separate but unified ministries:

Large Groups, Prayer, Praise & Worship, Men’s/Women’s Small Groups, and Reach.

Large Groups

Every week, AACF hosts a large group open to any collegiate student. Large groups are a great way to meet other people — believers and non-believers — for a time of fellowship and worship. During large groups, there is typically a worship/praise set, a speaker or key activity, and a study of God’s Word. Speakers vary from pastors, elders, or pastoral interns, who come from all over Southern California.

Large Groups will take place every Wednesday evening on campus.

Theme Verse: to be announced!

AACF’s prayer ministry focuses on communicating with God and praising Him through prayer. Throughout the year, we host weekly prayer meetings wherein we lift our praises, thanksgivings, and burdens to God as we learn how and what to pray for, according to God’s Word and will.

Prayer meetings will take place every Thursday morning on campus.

Theme Verse: 1 Timothy 2:1-2, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”

Praise & Worship

We praise and worship the Lord to express our reverence for and awe of Him, to thank Him for all He has done for us, and to simply bask in His presence. Throughout the year, we practice this through various forms of praise, including music, prayer, fasts, and fellowship. We worship together as a group of believers during Large Groups and individual events, such as Praise & Prayer Nights, Jam with the Fam, and many more.

Dates, times, and locations vary.

Theme Verse: John 4:23-24, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Men’s & Women’s Small Groups

Small groups are important for spiritual growth and accountability. AACF’s small groups are separated by gender, just so people are more comfortable sharing about what is on their hearts. The small groups intermingle students in different collegiate years; freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors unite together to study Scripture and form relationships with one another. Small groups typically read the Bible together weekly and challenge each other to look deeply into God’s Word.

Small groups meet Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings. Please email us if you would like to be plugged in. Locations vary.

Men’s Theme Verse: 2 Peter 1:5-8, “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Women’s Theme Verse: Philippians 2:2-8, “Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

If you see people tabling at the UCR Belltower with an AACF sign, that’s us! Our Reach team focuses on outreach and in-reach. This ministry provides organized opportunities for evangelism on campus and in Riverside. They additionally host outreach nights, table throughout the year, and plan our in-reach events, such as Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner, evangelism training, and many more.

Dates, times, and locations vary.

Theme Verse: Colossians 2:6-7, “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”
